School Age Care

After school careThe Y’s school program is structured to provide full day care and to support of remote learning for students in both cohort A and cohort B. We strive to nurture the potential of children and youth by helping them cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement.

Our current program is modeled off school reopening plans, as we have partnered with both the Auburn and the Lewiston school departments to provide this format of care and support to our students. Those enrolled in the public school systems are eligible for Coronavirus Relief Funding [CRF], and care is free between the hours of 8am and 3pm.

  • Daily hours of operation are: 7:00am-6:00pm
  • Remote learning blocks run 8:30am-10:00am, and 1:30pm-2:30pm daily.
  • Health screening and temperature checks happen at check in.
  • Kids and staff are required to wear masks when not eating snack or lunch; Handwashing, cleaning, and sanitization are performed throughout the day.
  • Outside of remote learning blocks, kids are engaged in activities that include: movement, arts & crafts, discovery, STEM, free choice/free play, and music.

Our programs offer activities based on the needs and learning styles of children and youth to promote physical fitness, social interactions, positive peer behavior, supportive adult relationships, and homework assistance. All activities are led by a caring, experienced, and certified staff.
