Head Swim Team Coach

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Programs & Fitness, and in accordance with the YMCA Mission
Statement and purpose of the policies of the YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston, the Head Coach will be responsible for the
safety and well-being of participants on the Twin Cities Swim Team. Coach must a have a good understand of the
“Rules That Govern YMCA Competitive Sports” which is based on fair-play; Understand the Y mission, goals, and
the needs of the community being served; Offer a positive image to the community, teaching and demonstrating
The Y’s Core Values of: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Solid competitive swim coaching experience with demonstrated technical expertise and the ability to connect
    with, teach and develop children of all ages and abilities.
  • Prior Head Coach or Assistant Coach experience preferred but not required.
  • Current USA Swimming Coach Membership (or within 30 days)
    a. To include: Foundations of Coaching 101 [new members only]; Athletic Protection Training course.
  • Current YMCA Certification for Swim Coaches (or within 30 days)
    a. Safety Training for Swim Coaches; or YMCA / ARC Lifeguard Certification
    b. CPR for the Professional Rescuer
    c. First Aid / AED
    d. Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with a customer service
    focus.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and the ability to travel locally.

Membership Representative

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
  • Conducts quality tours and be responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
  • Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
  • Controls access to the facility. Checks in members entering the building by scanning membership cards and obtaining proper identification of guests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Group Exercise Instructors

The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is looking for group exercise instructors who can provide an excellent class experience for our members while creating a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. Classes currently offered at the YMCA are:  Step, Cycling, Zumba, Tabata, Boot Camp, Group Power by Mossa, Group Active by Mossa, Pilates, and Yoga.
