We might be just a tad excited about the New Year. Check out the new and returning programs for January 2016. These programs are a great way to shake up your routine and pass those cold winter months. Most programs require pre-registration. Total Body Conditioning Classes
Starting Jan. 4

This class is great for exercisers who've graduated from Living Fit but aren't quite ready for high-intensity classes like Group Power or Boot Camp.

Weigh to Go
Jan. 6 - Feb. 24; Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Work toward your weight loss goals in a supportive group environment! You'll benefit from the expertise of certified trainers and nutritionists. Learn more.

Tai Chi with Ruben Cornelius
Thursdays, noon - 1 p.m.

Tai Chi with Ruben Cornelius will help clear and sharpen your mind through breath, balance and body awareness. Class begins Jan. 7.

Women on Weights
Jan. 8 - Feb. 26, Fridays 10 - 11 a.m.

Trainer Mike Muise teaches the fundamentals of weight training to build muscle and improve bone health. By the end of the course, you will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to take full advantage of the Y's weight room and create a well-rounded exercise regimen.

Lunch & Learn
Jan. 19, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 a.m.

“Taxes and You” with Philip Doucette, CPA from Austin Associates. $5 registration fee is required; includes lunch.

Skills & Drills Basketball
Jan. 4 - Feb. 10

The beloved pre-K and Kindergarten basketball program returns Jan. 4 through Feb. 10. Registration is now open. Sessions run Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:15–5 p.m. $30 for members, $50 for non-members.

Jan. 5 - Mar. 3

For children three and a half through teens. Registration now open. $45 for members and Lewiston residents, $60 for non-members.

Home School Exercise Classes
Jan. 6 - Feb. 24, Mondays and Wednesdays 1 - 2 p.m.

Classes incorporate games, sports, calisthenics and balance skills. Two Groups, each with their own experienced instructor: 4-7 & 8-13 yrs (limit of 15 children per group). Learn more.

Youth Swim Lessons
Starts Jan. 4, multiple days and times available

Knowing how to swim is fun -- and it could save a life. Our class titles have changed. Visit our Swim Lessons page to see where your little swimmer fits.

Watercolors with Debra Trafton
Saturday, Jan. 9, 10 a.m. - noon

Open to ages 7 - 100. Beat the winter blues with this fun and colorful class. $15 for members, $20 for non-members. All supplies provided.

Cross Country Ski Lessons
Jan. 3 - Feb. 14

Registration is still open for our youth cross country ski lessons, a partnership of the YMCA, the Maine Winter Sports Center, and Auburn Nordic Ski Association. All levels and abilities welcome. Ages 4 through 8th grade. Prices from $35.
