The generosity of others is the core of our existence. Annually, more than 500 volunteers support our mission of developing healthy spirits, minds, and bodies. These volunteers support our programs and services by contributing countless hours coaching, teaching classes, leading programs, organizing special events, serving on committees, and leading our organization as members of our Board of Directors.
When you are involved with the Y, you help bring about lasting personal and social change. Whether you want to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve your or your family’s health and well- being, or give back and support your neighbors, your involvement with the Y will positively impact those in your community.
Volunteer for Membership: Some of our continuous volunteer roles — such as Fitness Center Floor Staff and ChildWatch Volunteers — include a YMCA membership. Volunteers must work a minimum number of hours per month to be eligible. For more information and instructions on how to apply, contact Marcie Hird at 207-795-4095 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can find our volunteers everywhere: coaching youth on the courts, raising funds to help the Y offer financial assistance, serving on our Boards and committees, spiffing up our building, and mentoring our youth and teens. In the wellness area, volunteers monitor the fitness center, providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere for members and program participants.
We have all kinds of projects that could use a team of folks to update our facilities. Your group will do a little work, have some fun, and build camaraderie while improving the spaces where our community learns, grows, and thrives. From renewing spaces with paint, to building small projects or cleaning up equipment, your efforts are needed and appreciated. Let us match your team with a project that meets your goals.
Come one, come all, to help us prepare our camp site for the coming season. Move out the winter debris, unfurl the cabins, prepare the equipment; there’s lots to do for all ages and abilities. And it’s fulfilling to give back! Make it a family or staff day, or come on your own. Contact Chris Shea, Camp and Sports Director, for more information, email@example.com or 207-795-4095.
