Pool & Swim

Our indoor pool means you and your family can enjoy the fun and health benefits of swimming all year round. Whether working out, learning to swim, or competing on the Twin Cities Swim Team, our aquatics program remains one of our most popular features.

Family Swims are scheduled Saturdays and Sundays 12:00-1:30 beginning September 9, 2017.

Friday Family Swim has changed!

Families: 6:30-7:30pm on Friday nights, including summer. Teens are welcome immediately after from 7:30-8:30pm.


 Aqua Zumba

Aqua Zumba classes are currently held on Saturday mornings 7:05-7:55 am. Lots of lively music and movement in the water, shallow end only.  Come join the fun! Free to members; $5.00 for nonmembers.

Aqua Zumba classes will be cancelled if the pool closes due to weather conditions. It will come up on the mobile app, or you can call the Front Desk at 795-4095.

There will be no Aqua Zumba class on Saturday, November 25. It will return on Saturday, December 2.

Water Walking

Water Walking is on the schedule Friday afternoons, 1:30-2:30pm. Water walking is a great first step to fitness. You don't even have to get your face in the water or your hair wet. It's gentle exercises using the resistance of the water to gain strength. We wear water belts for the second half of class and walk/jog the length of the pool for an aerobic workout. This class is free to members and $5.00 a class for non-members.

There will be no instructor November 24, but lifeguard will be on duty if swimmers want to water walk on their own. Instructor returns December 1.

I love the Water Walking class because of the way I feel after! Water Walking is a bit of a misnomer, because the class includes lots of stretching and aerobic output from walk/jogging. I get a surge of endorphins from the aerobic aspect of the class, and stretching in the water affords my 66 year old body a range of motion and release I cannot achieve on land. A few minutes in the warm sauna after class and I walk out of the Y feeling as though I've had a massage and the world is a wonderful place. -- Becky, Auburn

Water Aerobics

Classes are 8-9 Tuesday-Friday mornings. Monday is on your own with a lifeguard in attendance. It is a comprehensive workout for the body that starts with a warm-up each class, then progresses to foam "weights" or other resistance aids in the water to strengthen arms and legs. We use noodles to exercise the length of the pool and stay in the deep end for a core workout at the wall. More leg exercises in the shallow end and some work with balls finish off the class and set us on the right track for the day. There is lots of laughter, encouragement and fun, along with a chance to socialize. You don't need to swim to participate in this class.

Please note: November 20-22 Water Aerobics classes will be "YoYo"-You're on Your own (with a lifeguard in attendance). Instruction resumes Friday, November 24.
