Let’s get healthy together! Offering over 40 group exercise classes weekly for members, our Ys promise to support you through every stage of life, regardless of age, physical ability, size, or shape. We offer a variety of group exercise classes for those who enjoy the encouragement of instructors and friends.

Class Descriptions:

Pilates
Pilates/Yoga
Combination of pilates core work with yoga stretching, breathing and postures.
Yoga Foundation
Yoga Foundations
A gentler class that focuses on learning proper breathing techniques, body alignment and basic meditation.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha
Meaning “Sun-Moon”, Hatha yoga aims to bring together opposites in your life and create balance. Breath work and postures work to align your body and allow energy to flow freely.
Yin Yoga
Yin/Restore
Yin Yoga focuses on stimulating the connective tissue by holding postures in a reclined or seated position for 3-5 minutes. Working to create space and mobility in the tightest areas. Restorative Yoga allows the body to relax, using props for support
Morning Boost
Morning Boost
A high energy boost to get your day going. This class consists of various circuit training, weight training, aerobics, mat work, cardio and stretching.
Vinyasa
Vinyasa
Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath.
Bootcamp
Bootcamp
Instructors incorporate interval exercises with circuit stations and sports drills to offer a total body workout for anyone ready to take fitness to the next level. Our 35 or 60 minute class is a high intensity cardio and strength workout.

Experience a well rounded 60 minute class that includes 20 minutes cardio, 20 minutes strength, and 20 minutes of core/flexibility! Using a combination of traditional & contemporary exercise from drumsticks to dumbbells!

We take the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you’ll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

Using TRX suspension makes gravity your resistance, adjusting the level of difficulty is as easy as moving your hands or feet! Progression is limitless! Great for every BODY! Limit 12 participants sign up starts 30 minutes before class begins.
Cycle

This class is a non-impact individually paced cardio workout on our specially designed Keiser M3 stationary bikes. Remember: Although the program is free for members, you must sign-in up to 30 minutes before each class to reserve a bike.

Group Active® gives you all the fitness training you need – cardio, strength, balance and flexibility – in just one hour. Get stronger, fitter and healthier with inspiring music, adjustable dumbbells, weight plates, body weight and simple athletic movements. ACTIVE YOUR LIFE!
Group Power
Strength Train Together
Group Power® will blast all your muscles with a high-rep weight training workout. Using an adjustable barbell, weight plates, and body weight, Group Power combines squats, lunges, presses, and curls with functional integrated exercises. Dynamic music and a motivating group atmosphere will get your heart rate up, make you sweat, and push you to a personal best! POWER UP!

Tabata
A high-intensity interval training workout conducted in 4-minutes segments: 20 seconds of activity, followed by 10 seconds of rest. Includes a mix of cardio and strength exercises that can be scaled to your ability level.

Entertaining exercise for the over -60 crowd! Improve aerobic capacity, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
Making Waves
Making Waves
Low impact moderate cardio water class, focusing on Strength, flexibility, and Stability. Suitable for most fitness levels.
Kick N Core
Kick N Core
Incorporates kickboxing techniques with an interval training style cardio workout. After the first half of the class doing standing moves, we take it down to the floor for core focused moves to finish us off!
Sit & Fit
Sit & Fit
Total body workout with the majority of the exercises completed from a seated position. Dumbbells, Resistance tubes, and Fitness balls are used to add intensity to the exercises. A great work out for those folks with limited mobility or limitations.
Muscle Sculpt
Muscle Sculpt
This class is designed to give you a full body workout. We use a variety of tools such as weights, bands, body weight, and exercise balls.
Yoga Flexibility
Yoga Flexibility
With a focus on your breath, we incorporate relaxing movements & gentle stretches for a mind/body workout.
Silver Sneakers Aqua
Silver Sneakers Aqua
Shallow water exercise class done to music from yesterday and today. Silver splash boards, foam weights and noodles are used for resistance training if desired. All ages and fitness levels welcome. Swim skills not required.
Aqua Tone It Up
Aqua Tone It Up
A moderate to low impact class that incorporates the sound of great music, aerobic movements and toning using weights, bands and noodles.
Aqua Craziness
Aqua Craziness
A Low impact, High energy class that uses the resistance of the water while minimizing impact to joints and back. Fun music, kickboxing and aerobic movements as well as weights, bands and noodles for strength and toning.
Beginner Spin
Beginner Spin
Cardio/Aerobic class where the instructor takes you on a bike ride up and down hills, standing and seated, fast and slow (on stationary bikes down stairs in the Spin Room)
Beginner Tai Chi

Beginner level – Principles include mind integrated with the body; control of movements and breathing; generating internal energy, mindfulness, song (loosening) and jing (serenity).

A water activity that takes the pressure off the bones and joints allowing you to increase your fitness levels safely.

Strentgh & Conditioning
Strength and Endurance class using body weight, hand held weights, tubing, and bands, to firm up the muscles, and increase strength and endurance.

FAQs

No. Classes are free for members, but you can purchase a day pass or a punch card and attend a class, as well.

The only classes that require registration are Cycle, Fit and Fun, and any outdoor classes.

The group exercise schedule for all locations stays the same from week to week. The only exception is that the 8am Saturday morning class at our Turner St. location is on a rotation.

The first Saturday of the month is cycle. The second Saturday is Strong Nation. The third Saturday is 20/20/20. The fourth Saturday is Active Together. If there is a fifth Saturday, it is an instructors choice class.

For land classes, all you need is a pair of athletic shoes to change into, a water bottle, and a towel, if desired.

For yoga classes, please bring a yoga mat.

For aqua classes, bring a swim suit, towel, and shower shoes, if desired.

Yes. Some of our classes are livestreamed and can be found on the Virtual Y. We also have a robust library of recorded classes on the Virtual Y, as well.

Yes, the Y asks each class participant to sanitize any equipment they use before and after each use with the provided cleaner and wipes.  Staff regularly clean and sanitize equipment daily, as well.
