Bullying Prevention (Olweus)
Olweus Bullying Prevention Program
The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA has joined hundreds of schools across the country and throughout the world, taking action to stop and prevent bullying. The Olweus Bullying prevention program is a leading research-based program shown to reduce bullying, making the Y, and our community, a safer, happier place for children to learn, grow and thrive.
Babysitting Course
For kids between 11-15 years
June 18 and 19, 9am-5pm (both days)
Cost is $65 for members and $75 for community.
Please bring lunch, drinks and snacks.
Kids will get hands-on experience observing and participating in the Y childcare classes. Upon completion of the course, students will also receive certification in CPR and First Aid from the American Red Cross.
Lifeguard Certification Course
American Red Cross lifeguard Training includes CPR, AED and Oxygen Administration Certifications. Registrants must be able to swim 75 yards and meet additional physical requirements to participate. Call or email 207-795-4095 Linda Pepitone to learn about future dates and information.
Lifeguarding Recertification Course
Need to update your ARC Lifeguard Certification? Recertification class is for those with American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications about to expire. Call for dates.
Babysitting Certification Course
For young people ages 11-15, this course prepares tweens and teens to become great babysitters – and shows parents that the responsibility is being taken seriously. Participants gain practical skills and confidence through video presentations, hands-on activities and classroom discussion.
