CAMP CONNOR PHILOSOPHY
Since the inception of Camp Connor, it has been our
philosophy that campers come to camp for a variety of reasons
and it is the camp’s responsibility to become something more
than just a daytime baby-sitting organization. The essence of
the program is the establishment of a close relationship between
a counselor and group of campers: We will do our best to know
each camper, his/her strengths and weaknesses, and their special
needs in emotional and physical areas. Camp Connor desires to
improve the campers’ self-image and promote confidence through
new, fun, and positive camp experiences in every phase of the
camp program.
We place a lot of value in developing skills in the camper.
Since we hope to instill confidence by promoting competence, we
want our campers to acquire as much skill in a variety of
activities as possible during their time at camp. For this
reason, a great deal of emphasis will be placed on instruction
and participation in the various camp activities.
All YMCA Programming is developed around the YMCA’s Core Values:
Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. We want all our
campers to Grow, Learn, Experience, Make New Friends, and most
of all – HAVE FUN!! Camp Connor Enters 45th Season of YMCA

Camp Connor are looking forward to maintaining the many
traditions of Camp Connor while building on a successful 2010
season with new program ideas from camp trainings and
parent/camper suggestions. This coming season will also consist
of several new staff members. These trained counselors possess a
genuine interest and experience in working with young people.
All Senior Counselors are of college age or older.
Camp Connor begins the week of June 20th, and campers can sign
up for any number of individual weeks or sign up for the entire
summer (all 9 weeks). Enrollment is limited for each session –
so don’t delay. Parent Handbooks will be available upon
registration, providing more details about camp and the daily
operations. An Open House at Camp Connor is scheduled for May
22nd, prior to the start of camp, to give everyone a chance to
