45 Years of YMCA Day Camping

Camp Connor is a co-ed day camp, owned and operated by the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, and licensed by the State of Maine for youngsters entering grades 1-8 in the fall. Located on secluded Lower Range Pond, combined with a large playing field, beach, wooded areas, Adventure Island, and an expanded Maine Lodge, Camp Connor offers a natural environment for children. Camp Connor 2011 will continue its renewed focus on outdoor sports, boating safety, and archery programming.

Camp Connor will be directed by Camp Director Josh LaPrell. Josh, who has a degree in Early Childhood Education, was previously the Assistant Childcare Director at the YMCA. Josh also earned his Day Camp Director Certification through the YMCA. The staff at Camp Connor is looking forward to maintaining the many traditions of Camp Connor while building on a successful 2010 season with new program ideas from camp trainings and parent/camper suggestions.

This coming season will also consist of several new staff members. These trained counselors possess a genuine interest and experience in working with young people. All Senior Counselors will be of college age or older.
